SEARAY 255 SUNDANCER MAKES DEBUT AT MALTA BOAT SHOW
Boat Show time again and we at BJ Marine are delighted to announce that we have brought the SeaRay 255 Sundancer to Malta.
This sports cruiser is where the best in day boats meets the best in mid size cruisers. The aft bench converts to a giant sunpad and inside sleeps four people comfortably with everything on board to keep you and your active family and friends happy.
Sea Ray is one of BJ Marine's forefront brands and every year we bring to Malta a selection of boats which are innovative with high performance and intelligent design. Owning a Sea Ray means being part of the exclusive group who value innovative styling, intelligent design and advanced engineering concept. Specifically for the March Boat show we decided to bring the SeaRay Sundancer 255.
The 255 Sundancer is specifically designed for the European Market. When Sea Ray launched the boat they had the established assertive person in mind, a person who does not compromise and wants a package that will last and will deliver what is expected of a cruising boat for cruising safely and comfortably with family and friends.
What surprises many first time buyers is that all Sea Ray boats come with a comprehensive list of inventory as standard boat specificastions. In fact the list of optional extras list for the 255 Sundancer is short as few items are left to the buyer to retrofit. This obviously has its advantages as all equipment is factory tested when fitted. Moreover when one considers the cost of all the standard equipment and the saving in fitting costs it works out to the client's advantage.
The 255 Sundancer is 8.15mt (26 feet) long with a beam of 2.59M and in this space Sea Ray managed to pack a beautiful cockpit with a number of innovative features and a living area complete with full kitchen facilities and a private toilet compartment with heated shower and sink facilities. The dining area is huge with space around the table for 6 persons. The mid-ship double berth is well ventilated and does not have the claustrophobic feeling which one usually gets on boats this size.
But the 255 Sundancer is not just a well designed boat it has the performance to go with it. Standard propulsion is a MerCruiser 5.0L MPI Bravo 111MCM stern drive delivering 260 hpv-v194 KW, spinning a Stainless steel prop. This unit delivers a top speed of 37 MPH / 60 KMH with a consumption of 23 LPH @ 3500 RPM.

- Hyde Sails to power Clipper fleet
Hyde Sails has been named as the official sail supplier for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Skippers will also receive personal training from Hyde's staff, and specialist support at key stopovers.
The news follows the signing of a two-race deal with Clipper Ventures that covers both the Clipper 2009-10 and Clipper 2011-12 editions of the race.
"Our crews get one set of sails for 35,000 miles of ocean racing and it's really important they're of a high quality to see them through the extreme conditions they will be facing," says round-the-world yachtsman Sir Robin Knox-Johnston. "We're looking forward to working with them to develop the best possible wardrobe of sails for our fleet of 10 ocean racing yachts."
Hyde's sails have been performing in the big boat arena for many years. According to a company statement, Hyde's experience in delivering high volume yacht sails for the charter market, as well as top-end raceboats, means it is ideally placed to fulfil the demanding needs of the Clipper fleet of ocean racing 68-footers.
