Sail Branding Technology
The development of corporate sailing and commercial sponsorship in sailing has led Hyde Sails to offer a full range of design services to place logos, paintings, or images on to customers' sails. Sail branding is only available for new sails from Hydes.
Let-ins - These are coloured and shaped pieces of cloth that make up the design and are integral to the main sail cloth. The logos are strong and long lasting and as an integral part of the sail no performance is lost.
Hyde Sails have perfected this method and the let-ins are put into the sails during manufacture in Hydes Cebu sail loft.
Screen printing - Hyde have their own in-house department in the Cebu loft in the Philippines.
Painting service - For detailed sail designs. Pictured here is a 40' yacht spinnaker commissioned by a customer in the pacific region.
Graphics Cutter - A recent investment allowing graphics to be cut from Vinyl for use on laminate sails.
For any of the above Sail Branding services e-mail your requirements with an example of the artwork to: sailbranding@hydesails.co.uk
Product Overview
Axius is a sterndrive package that uses twin, individually articulating MerCruiser® Bravo Three® sterndrives without the use of a tie bar. Axius is designed to solve one of boating’s biggest challenges – docking.
Innovative Distinction
The Axius Control System is a twin engine stern drive application that allows each to move independent of each other, providing precise handling.
Benefit to Boatbuilders
Axius requires no modification to the boat hull, allowing boatbuilders to simply install the sterndrives without any adjustment.
Benefit to Consumer
Axius-powered boats are able to move sideways, at an angle or even turn in a circle – all with a simple twist of the joystick.
Practicality
Axius is available in many horsepower ranges. This control system can be used with many MerCruiser sterndrives and is also compatible with the SeaCore sterndrive system for use in corrosive saltwater environments
Hyde Sails has been named as the official sail supplier for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Skippers will also receive personal training from Hyde's staff, and specialist support at key stopovers.
The news follows the signing of a two-race deal with Clipper Ventures that covers both the Clipper 2009-10 and Clipper 2011-12 editions of the race.
"Our crews get one set of sails for 35,000 miles of ocean racing and it's really important they're of a high quality to see them through the extreme conditions they will be facing," says round-the-world yachtsman Sir Robin Knox-Johnston. "We're looking forward to working with them to develop the best possible wardrobe of sails for our fleet of 10 ocean racing yachts."
Hyde's sails have been performing in the big boat arena for many years. According to a company statement, Hyde's experience in delivering high volume yacht sails for the charter market, as well as top-end raceboats, means it is ideally placed to fulfil the demanding needs of the Clipper fleet of ocean racing 68-footers.
